In August 2022, a bright spot of hope called Equity Nepal was formed in Kathmandu, a charity that works to improve the lives of blind children by giving them housing, health care, food, and education.
In Tarkeshwor Municipality, we have not only made our mark on the local record, but it has also made the lives of poor children who are blind or visually impaired brighter.
The organization is not only helping right away but also planting the seeds for long-term change. Equity Nepal offers these services to have a long-lasting effect on the blind community, making positive changes that will last for years to come.
Education is the key to making changes that last in society. Our dedication to supporting education is breaking down the barriers that have stopped visually impaired kids from making academic progress in the past.
The organization is not only teaching by providing an inclusive education but also raising a generation of thinkers, innovators, and people who give back to society.
For newcomers, we offer Braille lessons as part of our dedication to making sure that every student has the tools they need to do well in school. We also offer tuition because we know that each student is different and might need extra help.
Beyond schoolwork, Equity Nepal knows that basic life skills can have a big impact on the lives of visually impaired children.
The organization’s focus on teaching useful skills is a smart move that will help these kids become independent in the long run. Learning life skills gives people the confidence to live on their own, whether it’s doing daily tasks or dealing with people.
Equity Nepal hostel facilities do more than just give blind and visually impaired kids a place to sleep. This creates a safe place that encourages a sense of community and support.
The blind community is strong and resilient because of the relationships that are made in these places that last a lifetime. These relationships provide emotional support and shared experiences.
Equity Nepal knows how important it is to put the physical and mental health of visually impaired children first because they say “health is wealth.”
By helping with their health, the organisation makes sure that these kids have a strong base as they grow up and are ready to face the challenges of adulthood. This all-around approach helps the blind community stay strong and healthy in the long term.
Equity Nepal’s dedication to career counselling is a smart investment in the future of people who are blind or have low vision.
By helping them find jobs that match their interests and skills, the organization is not only meeting immediate needs but also planting the seeds for a generation of blind professionals who will be leaders in many fields and add to society’s diversity and richness.
Equity Nepal continues to shine a light on the lives of blind and visually impaired children, planting the seeds of change that will grow for future generations. The all-around approach, which includes education, hostels, health care, skill-based training, basic life skills, and career counselling, makes sure that the effects last not only right away but also for a long time.
Equity Nepal is writing a story of empowerment, resilience, and acceptance through these programmes. We are establishing the way for a future where visually impaired children can stand on equal ground, ready to face the world with courage and determination.
