The touching story of Manish Ghimire’s Journey with Equity Nepal takes place in the busy city center of Kathmandu, amidst the colorful tapestry of life. Manish was born partially blind, on May 28, 2015.
Manish was born in Nuwakot, along with his three older sisters. Two of Manish’s siblings have the identical eye condition that Manish does. After that, his whole family, including his mom and dad, came to Kathmandu for the betterment of those partially blind kids. Manish is studying in class 3 of Prithvi Narayan Secondary School, Goldhunga, Kathmandu.
The family of Manish Ghimire runs the grocery store every day. Sobha Ghimire, one of his sisters, who is also partially blind, is doing very well in school. Sobha Ghimire is our +2 graduate dedicated student and is now studying ‘Major English’ at Gramin Aadarsha Bahumukhi Campus. Another sister is studying in grade 6 at Prithvi Narayan Secondary School, and the other is married already.
Upon inquiring with the parents regarding the cause of their children’s partial blindness, they responded that no one in their family has a visual impairment or any other disorder and that they have no family history of genetic disorders.
These relationships form the background of his journey through the lanes of Lolang, Kathmandu. They live together as a close-knit family in Lolang, Kathmandu.
We did our first check-up at ASG Eye Hospital in Kathmandu on November 22, 2022. Born partially blind, Manish Ghimire was told to wear glasses as a treatment. Unfortunately, he is not able to get any more treatment. With glasses on, regular check-ups every six months to a year are the only way to see if his vision is stable.
Manish is an active and joyful child who loves to play around. Belonging to Madanpur-06, Nuwakot, his family currently resides in Tarkeshwor-5, Kathmandu.
Despite partial blindness, Manish is committed to his education, currently enrolled in Class Three, showcasing his determination to learn and contribute positively to his community.
Equity Nepal made it possible for Manish to get custom glasses on December 26, 2022. This was the start of a journey together with Manish Ghimire in which Equity Nepal promised to keep helping by keeping an eye on Manish’s eyesight and making quick adjustments to his glasses as needed.
With Equity Nepal’s help, Manish can continue his education, which shows how strong and determined he is. The group’s dedication goes beyond providing medical help; they also want to make sure that Manish’s vision problem doesn’t get in the way of his academic progress. Through this partnership, Manish is given the tools he needs to go through school with confidence and hope.
Equity Nepal makes sure that Manish’s eye health is always being checked by customizing his glasses and scheduling regular medical checkups. This way, any necessary adjustments can be made at the right time to improve his vision.
However, Equity Nepal has a bigger part to play in Manish Ghimire’s life than just helping him deal with his partial blindness. Manish can look forward to a better future thanks to the organization’s offer of custom eyeglasses, regular medical checkups, and educational support.
With the help of Equity Nepal, Manish can confidently and aspire to succeed in school, moving past the challenges that come with being partially blind. This all-around approach not only solves Manish’s current problems but also sets him up for a future where he can reach his full potential.
